Let’s be honest here: Keeping kids motivated isn’t always easy. School, homework, and other responsibilities can start to feel like a lot to ask of little people who probably want to play outside, build snowmen, and roast marshmallows on a camping trip, not sit down, study and read.
It might not seem fair that as kids grow older and more independent, they need more motivation to do what they should want – but it is appropriate. It’s normal and natural for kids to lose interest in things that feel more like obligations than fun activities. But you know what isn’t normal? When your child has no motivation at all.
